中2の生徒さんの英作文 Food waste problem

In Japan there are two problems : Japanese people throw away so much food and Japanese food self sufficiency rate is low. It's bad for the environment and it uses up a lot of tax.

The average person in Japan wastes about 920g of garbage a day. About half of the garbage is food. The amount of garbage disposal is 4,2890,000 tons in one year. It costs 40,000〜50,000yen to burn 1 ton of garbage. And almost 2 trillion yen comes out of taxes in one year.

I have an idea, it's a tax on garbage bags. This is where you pay more money when you throw away food. The extra money goes to the agricultural producers. They use this to buy agricultural work supplies.

If the price of garbage bags is higher, we will not throw away too much food. If farmers get agricultural work supplies, they can produce more food.

We can solve two problems, garbage problems and agricultural problems with the garbage tax and self sufficiency will increase.
